Going into the bye flying high

The Offense: The Dallas Cowboys have gotten off to a great start under the fantastic play from their back up quarterback Cooper Rush and outstanding defense performance through eight weeks. Week 9 being there bye, they now get to rest up and hopefully Ezekiel Elliott will come back healthy next week. Unfortunately the Cowboys do what they do every year at the trade deadline and that is, create rumors. The Cowboys always seem to have a rumor surrounding a star player and it never seems to go their way. Unfortunately other Super Bowl contender such as the Dolphins or even the Ravens made surprisingly big moves and are hoping that they can make a push for the playoffs and even a chance at the Super Bowl, also our division rivals the Philadelphia eagles have now improved to 8-0 just a week after polishing off their defensive line with ex-cowboy Robert Quinn. Fortunately for the Cowboys a few key players will be healthy very soon, corner stone left tackle Tyron Smith, and wide receiver 3 James Washington will hopefully both be available within the next month, and help this offense get fully on track. Besides that against the Bears, the Cowboys offense looked awesome. starting the game with 4 successful drives for touchdowns felt awesome. This was a game they had to win going into the bye and to stay on top of the division and in the race. Tony Pollard showed he can haul it when and where ever the cowboys need it. As well as some confident Dak Prescott throws, he had an impressive bullet to Cedee lamb for a touchdown and some other well placed balls throughout the game. Let's keep running the ball with him too!

The Defense: Although allowing 29 points the Dallas Cowboys defense showed up and showed out. We learned what we already knew about Micah Parsons and that he is a motor and he does not give up on any play regardless if he wins or loses the battle at the line. He had an outstanding hustle play for the Cowboys that caused a touchdown. With him needing to be double teamed for most of his pressures and getting held 95% of the game it allows other guys like DeMarcus Lawrence, Dante Fowler, and Osa Odighizuwa to show out and all get sacks on their own. The emergence of rookie Damone Clark was outstanding he had a few key plays and looked comfortable being his first game out there in the NFL. He showed off his speed which Micah had commented on earlier in the week. This defense looks scary one fully healthy, considering all three of our starting Safeties were out for more than a quarter last game, when everybody is healthy on all levels of the Defense we are shut down team. As a Cowboys fan I am hoping and praying they can offer Dan Quinn some sort of money to stay at the defensive coordinator position or even bring him up to head coach, I know we all know what happened when he was in the Super Bowl with the Falcons, but I would rather be in the Super Bowl than not even make it at all. He is the guy that's making it all work on the defensive side and Defense wins championships something that the Cowboys are learning as they progress. Cowboys have and continue to lead the league in sacks this past week getting four, making their grand total for the season 33 sacks on the year. The next closest team being the 49ers and the Eagles at 26.
