New Era in Dallas?

The Offense: coming into this weeks game the Dallas Cowboys have back up Cooper Rush starting Quarterback, this being his 3rd game starting he had looked good enough to get by while starter Dak Prescott recovers from hand surgery. Coming out of this week, the Dallas Cowboys look just as confident in Cooper Rush than they would in Dak Prescott. Calling plays down the field, more passing opportunities in the red zone, and more passing touchdowns. The return of michael Gallup was long awaited and boy was it nice. It was good to see him on the field and he even caught his first touchdown of the season. He looked comfortable and healthy running routes, definitely not full speed yet that will come in time, however it was nice to see him get a touchdown. Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard both look speedy, in years past people have said Zeke is faster but im finally starting to see it after the past few weeks. At the tight end position it is clear dallas will be letting go of Dalton Schultz after this year. Last year he was a massive part of this offense, and now hes splitting time with Undrafted rookie signee, Peyton Hendershot, who's looked awesome for an Undrafted rookie. As well as a pleasant surprise in Noah Brown, the 6th year vet and special teamer from Ohio state has thrived in the roll of Wide reciver 2 behind Ceedee lamb. Last but not least, we got an anchor at left tackle in Tyler Smith. The once hated late first round pick is now one of the most consist offensive lineman the cowboys have. Coming into the year fans were nervous the absence of Tyron Smith would do everything but help smith who played left guard all pre season. All of a sudden he's a stud at the tackle spot and suddenly, who's Tyron Smith?

The Defense: Micah Parsons was once again shut down only tailing 4 tackles. The secondary as been our bright spot on this Dallas defense consisting of a much more well rounded and hard hitting safety Donovan Wilson. Wilson, having 20 tackles over the last two games, and leading the team this year so far with 33. Alongside him Malik Hooker has been playing for his spot the past two years and I would say he's earned every penny, and an extension. Although the stats don't show it in interceptions or passes defended he's tackled well and in big moments. It's going to be scary when Jayron Kearse gets healthy. In coverage, Trevon Diggs has looked much better not allowing wide open deep plays thus far, and much more well rounded as a corner. He recorded a interception in each of the last 2 games and that now means he has 16 interceptions in 32 career games for the Alabama alumni. Lastly, our defensive line looks beefy! Fowler is looking like he can fill the shoes of Randy Gregory so far recording 2 sacks and a forced fumble. The combination of Nevill Gallimore, Osa Odighizuwa, and Quinton Bohanna looks awesome in stuffing the run and rushing the quarterback.
Upcoming: Next up the cowboys travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams in the New Sofi Stadium. This tends to always be a good game between them however this is a massive game for cooper rush. Now facing the winner of the Super Bowl in the Rams he will have the ability to defeat both participants in last years big game after beating the Bengals in week 2. In my opinion if he can somehow defeat them and continue to not turn over the ball, why not let him continue or at least let him compete against Dak Prescott. Im all for Dak to quarterback the team, however if Cooper Rush can go 4-0 starting this year, you can't take him out of the starting job. Defensively, the Stafford and Kupp connection has looked exactly like it did last year for the Offensive player of the year in Cooper Kupp, looking for Micah Parsons to have a bounce back game and get a sack or two against this offensive line that has allowed Stafford to get 2nd most in the league so far. I picked the Cowboys to loose this game but I hope Cooper can prove me wrong!
